Self-defense course for girls offered in Jackson

JACKSON — A free self-defense program using leverage techniques will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 13 at the Jackson Library, 2 Jackson Drive, for girls age 12 and older who want to learn to protect themselves from street attacks and personal assaults. Daughter and mother pairs are welcome, in addition to college-bound girls. The two-hour class will be taught by black belt instructor Walter Miller. Class size is limited.
