Area attorney honored LAKEWOOD — Pamela Madas Snyder, a partner with the law firm of Bathgate, Wegener and Wolf, P.C., in Lakewood, was recently named by the New Jersey Law Journal as one of its 2008 "40 under 40." The "40 under 40" is the Law Journal's annual look at the 40 most promising attorneys under the age of 40 in New Jersey. Snyder is the only attorney in the Ocean and Monmouth county area to be so recognized this year, and she is the first Ocean County attorney to ever receive this honor, according to a press release. Snyder lives in Point Pleasant with her husband, Jason, their daughter, Hannah Grace, and their two senior basset hounds, Penny and Eddie. She grew up in Lakewood and attended its public schools for grades K-12. Snyder graduated from McGill University in Montreal with a Bachelor of Arts in English literature, and received her law degree magna cum laude from the Seton Hall University School of Law. At Seton Hall Law School she was a member of the Interscholastic Moot Court Board and the Law Review. After receiving her law degree, she worked as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Richard L. Nygaard of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit. She then obtained employment with Gibbons, a law firm in Newark. In 2003, Snyder returned to her hometown of Lakewood and joined Bathgate, Wegener and Wolf, P.C. Snyder practices in the areas of general and complex commercial litigation, eminent domain, personal injury, construction litigation, land use appeals and elder law. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey and U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey; the State of New York and U.S. Court of Appeals, 3rd Circuit. Among her pro bono activities are coaching Seton Hall Law School's interscholastic moot court teams to the national finals and coaching the Point Pleasant Beach High School mock trial students to the county championships.
Snyder also volunteers with Tri-State Basset Hound Rescue Inc., a volunteer nonprofit corporation dedicated to finding forever homes for homeless basset hounds in the New Jersey, New York and eastern Pennsylvania area. She is an active member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Brick Township. |
