Debbie Mazella has joined the WJRZ radio family. Mazella will be the new DJ from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on WJRZ (100.1 FM), a Greater Media radio station.

Before joining Greater Media, Mazella, whose radio career began in 1994, worked at various radio stations in New Jersey and New York, holding such positions as assistant program director and music director, among others.

In 2008, Mazella was inducted into the FMQB (Friday Morning Quarterback, a radio trade publication) Hall of Fame, having been voted one of the top five music directors in a secondary market.

With the addition of Mazella to middays, Glen Kalina will move to afternoons from 2-7 p.m., and Joe Stevens can be heard nights from 7 p.m. to midnight.

Michael Rushnak, M.D., of Jackson, recently hosted a book signing and public health talk on his medical mystery thriller novel "Terminal Neglect" at Borders book store in Freehold Township. Copies of the book are still available. Through the prism of Rushnak's experiences in the health care arena, "Terminal Neglect" takes readers on a ride to the "dark side" where the worlds of medicine, politics, government and big business collide in ethical and mortal conflict. Supergym will host its first Community Adventure Bootcamp scheduled for July 7 at 6:30 p.m. in Pine Park, Lakewood. This community initiative to get active during the summer months, sponsored by Supergym, invites members and nonmembers to participate in the one-hour class that will range from strength and endurance drills to abs and stretching. Participants are asked to preregister in person at Supergym in Brook Plaza at New Prospect and County Line Road, Jackson, and to bring water and a beach towel or mat for the core exercises and ending stretches. Calgo Gardens, 84 Cross St., Lakewood, will sponsor a weekly farmers market from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Friday through Sept. 30. The market will include fresh vegetables and fruit straight from local farms, along with homemade peanut butter, breads, pasta, jellies and jams, honey, and a variety of teas made by a local herbalist, among many other items.
