St. Aloysius grads honored at St. Rose JACKSON — St. Aloysius School has announced that several of its alumni were among those students recently honored at St. Rose High School, Belmar. On Sept. 17, St. Rose held its annual National Honor Society induction ceremony and academic awards ceremony at which several St. Aloysius alumni were inducted into the Sister Ann Massarelli Chapter of the National Honor Society. St. Aloysius public relations coordinator Olive Taylor said the St. Rose National Honor Society inductees included Stephanie Bivona (St. Aloysius class of 2007), Kaitlin McEwan (St. Aloysius class of 2007), Kylie O'Brien (St. Aloysius class of 2007) and Sean O'Brien (St. Aloysius class of 2006). Taylor said students are selected for National Honor Society induction based on their qualities of character, scholarship, leadership and service. During the award ceremony, St. Rose students who earned the highest averages in each subject area at the close of the 2008-09 academic year were also recognized. St. Aloysius alumni were among those recognized, Taylor said. Geraldine Mabagos (St. Aloysius class of 2008) received the highest average honors in English, highest average College Prep Accelerated Art 2, and highest average honors in biology. Alyssa Hogan (St. Aloysius class of 2007) received highest average honors for Art 4. Sean O'Brien (St. Aloysius class of 2006) received an award for the highest average College Prep Accelerated in Spanish 3, and Katelyn White (St. Aloysius class of 2006) received an honorable mention College Prep Accelerated in Spanish 3. |
